Can You Really Make Money Processing Emails?

is wealthy affiliate a scam or can i actually make a six figure income online as an affiliate marketer

A quick Google search reveals pages and pages of people eager to show you how to make money processing emails. I’ve sifted through dozens of videos and websites to try and find some proof of that.

I uncovered countless claims, and screenshots of earning statements, which are meant to provide that proof, but I’m not so sure.

Eventually, after extensive research, I found the answers I was looking for. Here’s what I found…

Making Money Processing Emails

Before we go any further into this, I wanted to let you know, right up front, that there is no such thing as an “email processing” job. Surprised? I was too.

It took me days of searching to finally figure out why I could not find any information about the actual tasks involved with email processing. Turns out, email processing is just a front.

Here’s How It Works…

There is a small handful of companies that promise to pay for “email processing”. Out of the small handful, there is one company that comes up over and over again.

About 99% of the people talking about email processing are working for that same company: Email Processing 4 Cash.

To get started, you pay $25, which gives you access to a back-office and “important materials”.

Once you have joined, you are supposed to recruit other people who want to make money processing emails. Of course, once they join, they recruit others.

No one is actually doing anything with email.

It is still a bit unclear to me, what portion of that $25 you keep and what portion you send to the person who signed you up. However, I don’t think that is important here. What is important is that this is an unethical way of making money.

How It’s Supposed to Work

After many hours of research, I finally found an explanation of how email processing is supposed to work.

Supposedly, once you sign up you are given a list of email addresses. Then, you are sent emails with advertisements in them. You are supposed to copy and paste those emails and send them to each of the email addresses you were given.

This is called “Spam”.

Even the fake explanation of email processing involves spammy, unethical behavior.

You can’t send advertisements to people via email unless they signed up to an email list that clearly states that is what they are signing up for. That is the definition of spam.

Can You Really Make Money?

Once you sign up and get access to the “important materials”, you are promised that all you will ever need to do is post job ads on Craigslist. Most of the videos I watched claimed that they post three to five times a day and receive about $100 each time they do.

For that to be true, that would mean that Craigslist is one of the most effective marketing platforms in the world. I’m not going to say it’s impossible, but it is highly unlikely that you will make a few posts and receive a hundred bucks.

What company would pay $25 to copy and paste one email? That alone is a huge red flag.

Companies that want to send unsolicited emails use email software and send out massive ‘email blasts’ of thousands (or more) at a time.

Unfortunately, it probably is possible to make money for recruiting others. Hundreds per week? Probably not. That said, do you really want to make money this way? I don’t.

Is This A Scam?

Email processing is similar to those ads you used to see in the classifieds. You know, the ones that promise you will make money stuffing envelopes.

Because you are receiving something for your money, (even if it is just a bit of text in a “back office”) technically, I don’t think this qualifies as a “scam”.

It may not technically be a scam, but it is unethical, deceptive, and predatory.

How Can You Protect Yourself From Traps Like This?

The internet can be a treacherous place to navigate. If you are still trying to make your first buck online you can sometimes become desperate.

Unethical people, like the ones who promote email processing, prey on that desperation.

Here are a few simple rules to follow to keep yourself out of their traps:

If it sounds too good to be true it probably is, especially online

That desperation I just spoke of is what makes you believe in things that are too good to be true. When you are desperate for money, then you will see opportunity when there really is none. When you are in this frame of mind be careful about the decisions you make if they involve making money online.

Free trials:

Any program, tutorial, community, offer, or opportunity that promises to help you make money should be accompanied by a free trial. If you can’t gain some sort of temporary or partial access, then it’s probably best to avoid it.

If it’s something worthwhile they will be glad to offer you a glimpse behind the curtain. If there’s no free trial, nine times out ten there is a reason and you should walk away.

Knowledge is power:

If you want to build a real business and make money online then you need a support system, a network. You need to get out there and talk to other people about the current trends in internet marketing.

Chances are, you will avoid most traps this way. Two heads are always better than one. But dozens of heads in a community of like-minded people is even better.

Final Verdict?

We’ve all fallen for things online. I can remember countless programs that sucked me in and attempted to drain my bank account before I finally figured it out. If you fell for this processing email scam, don’t feel bad. It happens to the best of us.

Here’s how I started my online business, and you can follow the same steps.
