I found this website online, and it definitely got my attention. I am always looking for new survey websites, and this one caught my eye because it seems to be a ‘get paid’ type of survey site.
But can you really make money with the Global Survey Group website? This is what I was determined to find out as I opened it up (the site is located at www.globalsurveygroup.com) and began my search.
Making Money With The Global Survey Group Website
To begin with, let’s talk about the site. At first glance, I liked the look of it.
It was simple and to the point. I also liked the colors. They were pretty neutral and seemed to go together quite well. So that was a plus.
There was a ‘How It Works’ button located along the top tab bar, so I clicked on that to see if I could learn a little bit more. Here is what I found.
How The Global Survey Group Website Works
So the How It Works page was actually very informative. First off, I found this info-graphic, which did an awesome job of explaining the basic premise of the site.
Basically, here is how this site works. You sign up for it, then you wait to receive surveys via email. When you get them, you fill out the survey with your opinions… then you get paid for doing it.
Further down on this page, they say that once you get finished with a survey, you get to select a payment method, and can choose between PayPal, getting a paper check, or some other options.
They also said that once you complete a survey, you can check and see if you are eligible to take any others. If not, you can just wait until more become available… in which case you will get an email invite.
I also took a look at the website FAQ page, and found some interesting tidbits of information there.
First, I learned that the average survey on Global Survey Group pays between $0.50 and $10. But… they also say that there are phone survey opportunities that give you the potential to earn a lot more than this.
They also say, right in the FAQ, that the average person can make, at the most, between $10 and $250 a month on this site… and this actually really impressed me.
For one, I was impressed that they were so specific about a dollar amount that you can earn. And two, I am surprised that they didn’t try to pitch using this site as some kind of ‘get rich quick’ scheme.
So yeah. Thus far, I felt like the site was doing a pretty good job of explaining itself.
I also learned that to use the site, you have to be 18 years of age and must be a resident of the US. Also, I figured out that each survey takes an average of 10 minutes to complete.
At this point, there was little more to do but to join the site myself. So that’s what I did next. Here is what I learned.
Joining Global Survey Group For The First Time
I filled out the basic information needed to join the site—but was a bit surprised to find that it would not accept my address for some reason at first, stating that it was either wrong or that it was not in the zipcode that I had provided.
I kept changing it slightly to try to find out how to enter it correctly (changing west to w, things like that…), and eventually ended up just Google-mapping my own address to find out how it was listed on Google maps.
Eventually, I got it figured out—but it was truly a pain and a seeming waste of time. So, I am not sure why this happened—but I was not a fan!
But once I got inside, I was very pleasantly surprised to find that I had about 10 different surveys that I could take. Take a look at this…
Right here, without even having to do anything, I had the means in front of me to earn roughly $20 from Global Survey Group—and that is certainly not a bad way to start things off! Granted, it was going to take some time… but still, that is work that I could do and money that I could land in the bank, right from the get-go!
When I calculated how much time it would take me to earn this money, I came up with roughly 3 hours. Granted, these are just estimates, but still, 3 hours for $20? That is a little more than $6 an hour, which is actually way above average for survey websites like this one.
I also noticed that there were pages of my profile that I could complete… but for the next phase of my test, I decided to go ahead and take a survey.
Here is what happened when I chose a survey to take and clicked on it.
Taking My First Survey On Global Survey Group
So, at this point, I opened up the survey. I had to answer two questions before I got started—one about whether or not I would be open to taking surveys on my phone… and the other, which was basically making sure I was not a robot.
Then, I arrived at the main survey… which was actually hosted on Peanut Labs! Here is a screenshot.
After I answered this question, however, I was taken to another page where I was ‘re-routed’ to some other survey portal, where I was expected to log in. I was not even sure what this site was, so I closed it down… but I probably could have logged in with my Global Survey Group information.
Still, this was a bit of a pain for me. I was being required to do nonsensical little things before taking a survey that was supposed to take ten minutes—and like two minutes in, I still hadn’t gotten to the survey.
These little things add up over time, and I was just not really interested in jumping through these little hoops to get to the finish line.
So, at this point, I felt as if I had figured out my true thoughts about The Global Survey Group… and here is what they were.
My Personal Feelings About The Global Survey Group Website
So the first and most noticeable thing that I noticed about this site, was that the availability of surveys seems to be on-point. I have looked at a lot of survey sites that never sent me as many surveys as Global Survey Group gave me on my very first visit—so in this sense, they are definitely doing something right.
I will also say that the monetary payout for these particular surveys is excellent. It averages out at about $6 an hour, give or take, which is far above average as far as most survey sites are concerned.
The average, that I have seen, is about $2 an hour… so well-done to Global Survey Group for making it profitable and worth the time to take surveys.
That being said, there are some other survey sites that pay fairly well when you get surveys, examples include Medical Advisory Board, Engage Studies and iSurvey World.
Now, with that being said, I did experience a bit of glitchiness with this site. I had trouble filling in my address, which was definitely frustrating and seemingly pointless… and I also felt like I was expected to jump through some pretty ‘needless’ hurdles just to get to my surveys.
But, with that being said, the site pretty much did things the right way.
So if you are looking for a survey site that you can use to make a bit of extra cash, I would actually recommend this one and tell anyone to give it a try.
But… does it qualify as a legitimate side-hustle?
On that point, I have to say no… and here is why.
For me, a side hustle must be several things. It must be profitable, it has to be flexible, and it has to be at least somewhat consistent. This site is kind-of all three, but it does lack a bit in the ‘profitable’ department.
You can make some money on Global Survey Group, but will you earn enough to make any sort of meaningful dent in your bills? Will you make enough to re-invest into other projects?
Maybe, if you worked long and hard enough. But for me, the numbers didn’t add up to enough to make it really worth my time.
So while I did fancy this site a bit more than some I have looked into, I will also say that it is just not quite what I was looking for. So I will, unfortunately, have to continue my search for a quality side hustle elsewhere.
But as a survey site—not bad. So give it a try if what you are looking for is a site where you can take surveys to earn a little bit of extra spending cash.
