About Web Hosting Hub
Web Hosting Hub, or Hub as they are now called, is a budget hosting company with a lot to offer. This includes some of the best prices, features, and support teams available. Their shared hosting starts at just $2.99 per month.
With about 40,000 customers, Hub is one of the smaller hosting companies. They have 200 employees based in the USA, counting their support team. Having a support team based in America is always a plus.
What Makes Hub Hosting Unique?
While US-based customer support is not necessarily unique, it is a rarity. You’ll find that most support teams are outsourced to other countries. When you have a technical issue, talking with a native English-speaker is a definite bonus and one of the reasons that Hub stands out.
Web Hosting Hub also offers on-site website design services. You can get your website designed and hosted all under the same roof. From start to finish, they can handle the creation and implementation of your site, allowing you to focus on other tasks.
If you prefer to build your own site, Hub provides the excellent BoldGrid website builder. This is an easy-to-use drag-and-drop website builder. Unlike most builders, BoldGrid is built on WordPress, so I’ll say that you can use this. Usually, I don’t like web builders like on Godaddy because it means you can’t move your website away from the host easily. In this case, you can create your own professional-looking WordPress site in hours without any previous experience.
Web Hosting Hub stands out for providing excellent customer support, one-click installs, and in-house web design services.
Hub Online Reputation
Hub has a great online reputation. As mentioned, the customer service team is based in the US and can be reached via telephone or live chat. This support is fast and effective, which is reflected in their online reviews where Hub customers consistently give high reviews. In fact, over 80% of reviewers give Hub maximum points for customer support.
WhoIsHostingThis.com gives Hub 4.3 out of 5 stars, while HostingGeeks.com gives 4 stars. Along with over 80% of customers giving maximum scores for support, they also rate high for available features and server up-time. In most cases, you’re looking at 5-star reviews for all categories. These positive marks make me sit up and take notice. Overall, Hub has some of the best customer satisfaction scores that you’ll find.
Shared Hosting (From $2.99/mo.)
All shared hosting comes with a free domain name or free domain transfer. You also get unlimited storage, bandwidth, and email accounts. All hosting is SSD, which means that load times are 20 times faster than standard servers. When you combine the prices with the available technology, the shared hosting plan offers a lot of value. Another host that offers great value is Big Rock, which a lot of people haven’t heard of surprisingly!
With the shared hosting plan, you also have access to over 400 one-click applications. These applications include WordPress. With a single click, you can install WordPress and start building your website. Another option for building your site is the drag-and-drop website builder, full of templates and images. Finally, you also receive SSL security certificates and an abundance of extras that come standard with the shared hosting plan.
- Spark ($2.99/mo.) 2 Websites, 5 Parked Domains, 25 Sub Domains, 3 Website transfers, and $75 Marketing Vouchers
- Nitro ($4.99/mo.) Unlimited Everything, 2x Faster Server Speeds, and $75 Marketing Vouchers
- Dynamo ($6.99/mo.) Unlimited Everything, 4x Faster Server Speeds, and $250 Marketing Vouchers
- All hosting comes with access to 24/7 USA-based technical support.
- Website Backups are available at an additional $1 per website.
Use the BoldGrid website builder to build professional-looking websites. No experience is necessary with this drag-and-drop application.
BoldGrid Drag and Drop Website Builder
BoldGrid is a unique website builder, as it’s built using WordPress. Essentially, BoldGrid is a drag-and-drop version of WordPress that is ideal for those that are new to building websites. You won’t get the same depth and available features as you would get with a standard WordPress installation, but you do get an easy-to-use solution for setting up your first website. BoldGrid is more than capable of getting a fully functional website or eCommerce store live in just a few hours.
Even though I’ve only seen a demo of BoldGrid, I’m impressed with what I saw. The templates are very professional-looking and there are also useful videos on the Hub website that explain every step of setting up your site. You can also speak to a BoldGrid expert before you place your order.
WordPress Hosting and eCommerce Hosting $2.99/mo.
Using the same price structure and providing the same features as the shared hosting plan, Hub has created a specialist support plan for both WordPress and eCommerce hosting. This support plan includes many themes, templates, and shopping carts that can be added with a one-click install. Hub has also simplified some of the more technical aspects of using WordPress or managing an eCommerce site. To get these features, you only need to pay $2.99 per month.
The WordPress hosting is top-notch and many of the features and plug-ins are available as one-click installations. Other highlights include impressive page load speeds and server response times. I believe this is some of the best WordPress hosting available.
One-click WordPress installation is included. Choose from a variety of premium WordPress themes for your new site.
Website Design Service
Hub offers a full web design service for WordPress or any other CMS platform. The design services cover everything from building an online store to social media integration. If you make use of the in-house design team, you’ll get a free hosting plan for the first year and free site updates.
You also have the option of speaking to a website expert as part of a free website consultation. If you don’t want to get the full design service, you can have parts of your website completed for you. This means you can get the basics done on your own and then let the experts take over. There are no prices available for these services as each website will get a tailored quote. The bottom line is that if you’re new to WordPress or scared of building your own website, you can take advantage of the design services provided by Hub hosting.
For me, I’d prefer something with a transparent hourly rate, like InMotion, but really any type of hosting that offers WordPress assistance is great because it means you can get “unstuck” fast, even as a newbie.
Cancellation Policy
If you’re not happy with your hosting, Hub has a 90-day money back guarantee. This guarantee is only for the hosting and does not include a refund on extras such as domain privacy, SEO, or design services.
90 days is three times longer than the standard! Again, the only other company I can think of that does this is InMotion (linked above).
The Hub cancellation policy is good for 90-days. This does not include a refund on design services or extras.
Hub Customer Service Review
The Hub website includes an extensive knowledge base to help answer any questions that you have. You can also use the 24/7 live chat support, telephone, or Skype to receive assistance. In short, Hub has everything covered when it comes to customer support. They offer some of the fastest response times and all members of the support team are in the US.
Customers regularly give high scores to Hub for their technical support and it’s not hard to see why. The combination of affordable prices and quality support equals one of the best values you’ll find.
Who Is the Ideal Customer for Hub?
Hub is the perfect host for anyone that is new to WordPress. You have access to great customer support and you can even have WordPress installed for you. The inclusion of the BoldGrid website builder provides yet another option for getting your website built quickly. Novice users can simply drag and drop elements to build a custom site in a matter of hours. For eCommerce stores, you’ll find a variety of easy to use apps, social media integration, and SEO features.
Hub offers a well-thought hosting plan that is easy to use, which is great for novices. For advanced users, you may find that their lack of VPS and reseller hosting makes it hard to choose this service for your long term business plans. If that’s the case, I’d recommend Media Temple or HostingSource.
Hub Website Hosting Final Verdict
Hub is one of the top website hosts that I’ve come across. For a low price, they deliver a lot of value. The customer support is exceptional. The shared hosting plan offers fast page load times. With Hub being a smaller hosting company, they don’t overload their servers with too many websites.
Though there are tons of hosts out there that offer similar options to Hub, very few of them also offer great customer service, great pricing, and WordPress assistance in one package.
My all-time favorite host is Kinsta. They are pricey, but freakin’ fast, fast and the support is rock-solid. The STARTER plan is great for one website, but I recommend the BUSINESS 1 if you want to build multiple websites
